I’m late with this but here we go again – another in the series of IM Checklists. Get used to it ’cause there is a new one every month!
This one is Volume 6 – Canva
If you are not familiar with Canva, it is an online program that allows you to create graphics of all sorts either from scratch or from hundreds of templates.
There is a free option that is somewhat limited but for doing your own graphics it is just fine. If you plan to charge for graphics services using Canva go for the paid option.
I have been using Canva for about a month and I must say I wondered about using checklists for something like Canva and was not sure what I would find when I opened the lists.
VIDEOS!!!
Yes, we have the checklist as usual but each check list comes with a video. That is the best news! The videos show you how to complete each of the tasks in the checklist.
How great is that!!
I learned more from watching these videos than from the tutorials, probably due to the fact that these videos address a specific task, step by step as opposed to “This is how to use Canva”.
What’s Covered
There are 32 checklists and videos in this batch and they cover some very interesting things you can do using Canva.
The image below is from the member area where you access the checklists. You click on the checklist you want in the list on the left and that check list and the related video are available right there.
It is hard to pick a favourite but I learned so much about how to use Canva in this video –
I have content that I have been struggling to get into a good looking ebook. I have tried other things but once I watched this video, this is the way I am going. The templates offered by Canva are very helpful in showing you different ways to layout your ebook. As always, you have access to the XLSX, .DOC and PDF versions of the checklists.
I was printing them out and using them that way but with the last set I started using the spreadsheet version. I just copied the file renaming it with the project name and then used that file. All the lists are available in one place and it seems to work well for me.
Conclusion
If you are on the fence about doing your own graphics, go to Canva.com and create a free account and look around. I think you will be surprised how much you can do and how quickly and easily you can get it done.
Then, come back here and pick up IM Checklist Vol 6 – Canva . Using them really does help keep you on track.
