My new topic for the month of September (yes, I know it is late in the month) is Product Creation.
Even if you are not ready to create your own product, there is good information in here that can help you in your online business.
I’m guessing that at least some of you have thought about creating your own info product.
Did you follow through or did you, like me when I started in IM, chicken out or become so bogged down you just gave up?
Affiliate marketing has it’s place and I do a fair bit with both physical and digital products but even with that, I create my own bonuses to these offers.
Why Product Creation is Good for Your Business
Having your own product (or products) is super important when it comes to your long term wealth and stabilizing your income.
You see the only good thing about a J.O.B. is you get a regular pay check come rain or shine.
Every month you go to work you get paid without fail.
Not so online.
Your money goes up, and your money goes down. Every month.
This is why I want you to become or at least consider being a product creator.
Think about it for a minute…
How many lists are you on where you get hit with pitch after pitch, after pitch selling yet another affiliate product?
Lots, right?
Yeah well, guess what’s happening to their list?
It’s getting bored, fed-up and diluted.
I know I unsubscribe to people’s lists all the time when I get fed up.
When you promote other people’s products to your list, you run the risk of losing those subscribers if that is all you do with that list.
If they get the freebie or buy the product, they are now on the other person’s list too.
They get your email and this other guys email.
Say they read yours. You send another email pitch and guess what…
… they join someone else’s list.
Your open-rates decline, your emails get read less and less and eventually you become just another email in the spam folder.
Product Creation does NOT have the be Difficult
You do not have to create huge products. You just need to find a need and fill that need. Just make sure that your product is good – really good.
When you sell your own unique high quality stuff (… and you can still throw in the occasional affiliate promo) you’ll deepen the relationship with your list.
They’ll get to know you so much better and like your products more.
Then you can get affiliates to send you traffic and you make money without having to do any more work.
OK, so that’s my rant on why you need to create your own products. If you still only want to do affiliate marketing, that’s fine BUT when you create your own bonus (it’s a product) this can make you stand out from other affiliates and get you more sales.
