YES! Another in the series of great checklists!
This one is created for Affiliate Marketing and covers every task you should do in your affiliate marketing endeavours. If you have been doing this for a while you may well think “I know all this – I don’t need a checklist”.
I beg to differ.
For me, using checklists…
- helps remind me of all the tasks I need to complete so I can schedule my time effectively
- helps to keep me on track and not wander off in the middle of things
- reminds me that I do NOT know everything and sometimes skip or miss steps if left to my own devices
- lets me sleep easier knowing what I have accomplished and what I have left to do
- helps me keep track of multiple projects by using a set of lists for each project
Especially if you are new to affiliate marketing, even if you have read some books on affiliate marketing, using these checklists will fill in the blanks of how to do some tasks that are glossed over in many books or courses.
For example, in the checklist for Promotional Emails, not only do you find how to format your emails, what information to present to your subscribers but also lots of hints on how to do each of the steps.
My favorite tips are what NOT to do – you’d be surprised how many marketers do these things that are harmful to their business.
You’ll often here that affiliate marketing is simple. Just follow these steps:
Step 1: Identify Your Niche
“Just pick a niche, any niche, and go with it – if it fails, you can choose another and try again.”
Ummm, not as likely as you might think.
How many people are going to put in all the work, fail and then try the same thing again if you don’t know what went wrong the first time?
Follow the 14 points in the Niche Selection checklist and you will have a much better chance of succeeding than just choosing willy-nilly.
Step 2: Choose a Market Place
“Figure out which marketplace/network/store you’ll be using to find products.”
Right, but how do you do that? We have a checklist for that!
Step 3: Select a Product
“Do some research and figure out which product you want to promote. Then grab your affiliate link. “
Wow that sounds easy, but, get it wrong and you will likely have a dud on your hands.
Not only that, but different networks show you different information and the same information in different ways. It can become confusing.
There are checklist for researching products on three of the major affiliate networks and the information in these checklists will help you on most others as well.
Step 4: Shoot Your Video
“Figure out how you’re going to do your video (talking head, screencast, etc.) and start recording. “
Again, easily said but not necessarily so easy to do.
Checklist 17 gives you 15 things to do/consider when promoting a product with a review video.
Step 5: Upload and Optimize
“Get your video on YouTube and start optimizing the title, description, and keyword tags for maximum search visibility.”
Setting up your YouTube channel correctly, getting your description and tags optimized and the best keywords is just part of the process. There is a lot more to it.

Step 6: Rinse and Repeat
“Choose another product and start steps 3 through 5 over again.”
Absolutely true…. once you get it right.
There will always be some fine tuning required to get the maximum benefit from your efforts but you can do more in less time following these checklists.
Take action, imperfect action, and follow these checklist and you are on the way to getting it right!
